红色

　　The color of red, which can be found in every Spring Festival and other festive occasions, generally stands for good fortune, longevity and happiness in Chinese culture. People use red envelope containing the lucky money which they take as gifts for their relatives and close friends. Another reason why red is prevailing in China is that it is closely related to Chinese revolution and the communist party. However, red does not always symbolize good luck and happiness, the name of the dead were normally written in red in the past. As a result, it is offensive to write Chinese people's name with the red ink.

　　黄色

　　The reason why the color yellow is significant in Chinese culture is that it has unique symbolic meaning. It represents the power and authority of the rulers in feudal society. At that time, yellow was used exclusively by the emperors and was printed all over the royal palace. Meanwhile, the imperial robe is in yellow while the ordinary citizens are forbidden to dress in yellow. And then, yellow is also a symbol of harvest. When the autumn falls, the fields take a yellow appearance. People are in high spirits and celebrate good harvest.

　　白色

　　With China's reform and opening up, many young people tend to hold western-style wedding ceremony nowadays. The bride commonly wears a white wedding dress at the ceremony, because white serves as a symbol of purity in people's opinions. However, white is used in funerals in Chinese traditions and cultures, so you must bear in mind that the white flower can't be taken as a get-well gift to express the good wishes to the patients,  especially to the olds or patients in critical conditions. In like manner, the gift money can't be put in the white envelop but in a red one.

　　16年12月份的四级翻译都是以文化为题材，出现三篇同题材的对于"颜色"的介绍，这是之前从没有出现过的。

　　加连词

　　由于中文省略句间连词的特点，经常出现如下句式："黄色是专为皇帝使用的颜色，皇家宫殿全都漆成黄色，皇袍总是黄色的…"这类有两到三个分句的句子，分句间一定要补上连词and，切忌点个逗号直接下个分句。看似简单，但却是同学们最容易忽略和出错的点。

　　用被动

　　被动依然是大考点，粗略计算三套中至少有12处考到被动句，明显的被动和潜在的被动都有涉及。如"宫殿漆成黄色""百姓禁止穿黄色""现金放在信封""名字用红色书写等等，这些均应处理成被动。

　　形容词的翻译

　　可以用A of B的结构处理，翻译为B的A。"统治者的权利和象征""收获的象征""纯洁的动作"等等。另外就是长形容词的翻译要用定语从句，不会用定从的同学可以把句子拆成两部分翻译。

　　语序／多动句／无主句

　　语序和多动句每次都是头两大考点，今年依然如此。拿到一个句子，先找主干，主干翻译到前面，其他成分置后。

　　碰到多动句应首先考虑动词间的关系再确定动词怎么处理。

　　这次考试考到了1个无主句，可以用形式主语来写，这些都是之前讲过的内容。

　　词汇

　　真题中词汇的重复率很高，往年出过的"被视为""以..为""文化传统""联系""独特"等词汇今年再次出现。所以背真题中不认识的生词实在是准备翻译的捷径！
